Good Day and thank you for visiting my website. Your journey into selling or buying a business begins here! Your decision to either sell or buy a business is indicative that a change is in order and my goal is to help facilitate that change to the best of my abilities. My name is Roger Poulin, and I have successfully helped start and energize businesses for the past 20 years. Before continuing on to the important stuff, here is a little bio about me to help us get acquainted.

An electrical engineer by degree, I worked earlier in my career for companies like IBM, OCE' USA, Sharp Electronics and Innowave..a Mutual of Omaha company. My transition from engineering to sales began at IBM after realizing that by providing the correct solution to a customer's needs, everyone benefits from a job well done. This translates into customer satisfaction for you and job satisfaction for me. It's a Win/Win situation. By best meeting your needs, everybody wins.....a novel concept these days isn't it?

As my sales career developed, I enjoyed the challenges of growing territories from complacency to high performance, well run machines that landed me national recognition as a "turnaround specialist" and rep of the year at two companies. I loved working with under performing dealerships where a dose of common sense coupled with reasonable action plans helped my manufacturer, the customer (dealership) and their employees. By asking key questions about the operation, past performance, obstacles preventing success and matching that data closely with the client's basic needs and wishes, a clear blueprint could be constructed showing what needed to be done. Setting attainable goals and having accountability were the keys to successful implementation of my action plans and to achievement of those goals. This process worked for me time after time and to this day remains a fundamental activity I perform daily to help better serve my clients.

In establishing new distribution channels for three major manufacturers, I discovered matching entrepreneur's business needs and financial goals with available sales, marketing and technical expertise helped create some very successful companies. Many of these companies were started by business minded people with no experience in their particular industry and no knowledge of the product or services they were about to provide. As I provided the necessary "know how" to get started and effective guidance to grow, together we cultivated some highly productive and profitable companies The secret...you guessed it..a simple process oriented approach to the business with attainable goals and accountability being at the heart of the matter. The same tools that helped turn around under performing companies previously in my career produced dramatic results for my clients in the copier, water purification and information technology industries. The same "needs satisfaction" approach has proven to be the catalyst in providing professional guidance and results in a variety of environments.

It is with this philosopy that I work today as a business broker. Buy Your Business

The vast majority of all business buyers are first time buyers, unprepared to meet the complexities of a business acquisition. However, whether you are considering your first acquisition or are a seasoned investor, you can look to us for assistance in every phase of the transaction. The following, therefore, summarizes the key elements of the business acquisition process as professionally conducted by our office.

Initial Meeting -
Objectives, Needs and Requirements Review:

In preparation for our initial meeting, the business buyer should complete our Buyer Response Form. After completing the form, the buyer will email us the information, or may print the confirmation page and send via fax. This information, along with our subsequent discussions relating to the buyer's personal goals and objectives, will provide an appropriate starting point to the process. A detailed search of our large listing inventory enables us to develop a selection of "target" businesses for the buyer's review.

Review of Acquisition Alternatives:

We make every effort to provide the buyer with pertinent information on a target company's financial performance, staffing, facilities, equipment, lease, inventory, customers and market areas served. This information is where our professional edge makes a difference in a successful acquisition. In most cases we will have tax returns, customer lists, etc. for confirmation. If we cannot provide verification of information given to us, we will advise you accordingly.

When the various business names are disclosed, you will be required to sign a standard "Confidentiality/Disclosure" form. In most cases, this is required by the business owner.
